The day-long training is expected to draw Massachusetts law enforcement officers and cybercrime experts from across the state and focus primarily on the investigations involving cell phones and other mobile devices.
This will be an awareness level training presented by Amber Schroader, CEO, Paraben Corporation and AAG Chris Kelly, Managing Attorney of the Cybercrime Division. Attorney General Martha Coakley will deliver the opening remarks and discuss the importance of developing tools and skills necessary to recognize and investigate crimes with a digital component.
The Attorney General’s Cyber Crime Initiative was designed in order to help the Commonwealth develop a statewide capacity to prevent, investigate, and prosecute cybercrime.
The Attorney General’s Office has trained local law enforcement and continues to schedule these quarterly trainings to help law enforcement better understand the procedures of searching and securing digital evidence and also the understanding of new laws and technology.
